Passing Clouds was the name of a quaint venue in London’s Hackney area that specialized in African music. People from all over the world would go there to listen to all sorts of sounds from across the African continent. What is most interesting is that the music was from Africa but it was being played and enjoyed by people from all over the world. Unfortunately Passing Clouds had to close its doors due to a contract issue with the landl owner. Although the physical place is gone it still lives on in the hearts of everyone who has ever been there.
This even in Tokyo’s Daikanyama district will be in tribute to PASSING CLOUDS. Join us for a mid summer celebration in Daikanyama. We will dance to Afrobeat and rhythmical expression.

アフロビートとは、アフリカはナイジェリアの英雄であるフェラ ” アニクラポ ” クティが発明し、提唱した音楽。
そのアフロビートを継承し、更に深化創造する決意のもとバンド名を JariBu と命名（jaribu（ジャリブ）とは「挑戦する」という意味のスワヒリ語。）
2009 年、ライブ会場のみで販売されたミニアルバム「Afro Sound System」（完売）をリリース後、Fuji rock festetival 2009 に出演。
2010 年 7inch Vinyl のみで発表された “Legend Of Yoruba” を含む初のフルアルバム “MEIDACRACY” が 2011年リリースされる。
菊池成孔 DUB SEXTET のメンバーでもあるエレクトロ界の重鎮パードン木村のミックス＆マスタリングのこのアルバムは、2012年1月ドイツ Tramp Record からも全世界に向けてリリースされた。またTramp Record からは別エディット となる 7inchVinal も同時リリース。
2012年4月、シンガー＆ラッパーの COMA-CHI のシングル”Endless rhythm EP” にて生演奏によるリミックスに参加。
2012年6月 2nd アルバム “No More Patient” を経て 2014 年 6 月、2年振りとなる 3rd アルバム “JARIBU” 日独を中心に全世界同時リリース。
そして、2009年以来5年ぶりとなる、Fuji Rock Festival2014にも出演を果たした。
2015年より、アフロビートのみで構成されたイベント「トウキョウシュライン」を主宰。同年11月には韓国に、また、2016年10月には２週間にわたりフランス・スペイン・ツアーを敢行させた。
